A touching event occurred in the Altai Territory this winter. On the way past one of the houses, a passerby noticed a dog lying on the veranda and emitting a faint whine.
As he came closer, he saw that the dog was protecting the little boy with its body, probably trying to warm him up. The child was wearing only a light house dress, although it was bitterly cold outside.
Without hesitation, he called the police and an ambulance. The boy was hospitalized due to severe hypothermia and hunger. Upon inspection of the house, it turned out that there was no one there.
It turned out that the boy’s mother left him alone on the cold veranda and returned only 4 days later. According to a representative of the Loktevsky District Prosecutor’s Office, the boy remained alive thanks to the dog, which warmed him, but she would not have been able to do this for several more days.
The prosecutor’s office is checking the actions of the mother and the district’s social services; it is possible that she will lose her parental rights. The fate of the dog, thanks to which the boy remained alive, remains unknown. Unfortunately, not all people understand the value and devotion of their pets.
